About the Author:
Prof. N.E. Muthuswamy (1925-2005) was a prominent figure in the world of education and astrology. Born in Noorani village, Palakkad, he distinguished himself academically from an early age. Muthuswamy passed Mahopaadhyaaya in Sanskrit with first rank in 1945 from the Trivandrum Sanskrit College and later pursued a six-year diploma course in Indian Medicine in Ayurveda. His expertise extended to languages as he passed the Sahithyaratna and Hindi Vidwan examinations in Hindi.
His academic journey led him to become a Hindi Lecturer at various colleges such as Mar Ivanios College, Trivandrum, and S.N. College, Quilon. He later joined the Government service as a Hindi Lecturer at University College, Trivandrum, and eventually served as Principal at the Hindi Training College in Trichur. He concluded his service as the Editor of the Publications Department at Ayurveda College, Trivandrum.
Muthuswamy's dedication to education was evident in his work as a teacher, editor, and author. He edited numerous Sanskrit classics related to Ayurveda and even published a Malayalam Dictionary of Ayurveda. His commitment to making educational material accessible led to the publication of well-crafted guidebooks in Sanskrit and Malayalam for students, particularly those preparing for the Sanskrit Teacher Examination.
