About the Author
Renuka Devi Choudhurani was born on 31st July 1909 in Baghber, Mymensingh, and hailed from a prominent zamindar family. After marriage, she became the wife of Dhirendrakanta Lahiri Choudhury. Post partition, she settled in Kolkata and became a celebrated figure in Bengali culinary writing. Her first book, "Rakamari Niramis Ranna" (1988), focused on vegetarian cooking, and her legacy continues with this delightful compilation of Bengali sweets and snacks.
Renuka Devi Choudhurani passed away on 28th April 1985, but her culinary contributions continue to inspire and guide Bengali cooks.
