About the Author:
Sijar Bagchi was born in 1977 in Kolkata and grew up in Bali, Howrah. He started writing at a young age and became a regular contributor to newspapers and magazines during his college years. He has had a long career in journalism, working for Anandalok and currently serving as the editor of Anandamela. Bagchi has written multiple novels for Anandabazar publications and short stories for renowned magazines like Desh, Anandabazar Patrika, Sananda, Ebela, Unish Kuri, and Krittibas. In addition to fiction, he has penned essays, book and film reviews, screenplays, travelogues, and editorial pieces. His works have been translated into other Indian languages. He is also actively engaged in research on Bengali and Indian folk culture. He has received the Somen Chanda Smarak Samman from the West Bengal Bangla Academy and the Ila Chanda Smriti Puraskar from the Bangiya Sahitya Parishad.
