Synopsis:
This novel begins on a chilly French evening in 1888, when Paul Gauguin arrives to stay with his friend Vincent van Gogh. From there, the narrative delves into the turbulent, dramatic, and intense life of Van Gogh, exploring his struggles as both an artist and a human being.
Running parallel to this historical storyline is Ritwik's life in 2017 Kolkata. A professional advertiser but a failed painter at heart, Ritwik finds himself battling depression, existential crises, and artistic failure. His world slowly transforms into an illusion-filled hallucination, dominated by the mesmerizing presence of Van Gogh’s masterpiece, "The Starry Night."
Determined to revive Ritwik’s spirit, his wife Sharmila takes him to New York, to witness the original painting. There, something extraordinary happens—Vincent van Gogh himself appears to meet Ritwik, transcending the boundaries of time and reality.
Through Tarabhara Akasher Niche, Srijato presents a deeply psychological, poetic, and visually rich novel, blending art, madness, and passion. The book explores the fiery intensity within an artist’s soul, the fragility of mental health, and the undying connection between inspiration and obsession.
