Synopsis:
Arindam was waiting at Wellington Square with his two office friends and a friend’s wife, expecting Jhunu to arrive at the marriage registrar’s office. The notice had been filed, and all that remained was for Jhunu to show up at the appointed time. But she never came. That humiliation changed Arindam’s entire life. He quit his job, ventured into business with a small capital, and climbed his way to the pinnacle of success.
Jhunu had long since become another man’s wife, and Arindam too had settled into family life. He never tried to reconnect with Jhunu, yet she kept track of his life, occasionally calling him. Was that the extent of their connection? Or was there an unseen pull still lingering between them? The presence of Jhunu’s fiery niece, Prarthana, adds a new dimension to the complex and multifaceted nature of love, igniting a spark that reveals hidden emotions.
This gripping novel by Sunil Gangopadhyay masterfully explores the depths of human relationships, longing, and the unspoken bonds that refuse to fade over time.
