Synopsis:
The death of his father—consumed by flames—shatters Biswarup’s illusions and romantic notions about life. But then, a woman named Sohagini, affectionately called Gini, enters his life and brings back color and passion.
Biswarup, struggling in the whirlwind of Bengali poetry’s politics and personal crises, finds in Gini a radiant torch, illuminating even the darkest nights. He clings to her desperately. Yet, as every living body carries the seed of death, do all relationships carry the inevitability of separation?
Why does Gini’s behavior suddenly change? Why does she withdraw from the very relationship she initiated? As Biswarup oscillates between the will to live and the temptation of death, a poem by Rabindranath Tagore, once recited by Gini, resurfaces in his mind. Will that poem redefine their journey, leading to an end or a new beginning?
A novel that delves deep into the complexities of love, loss, and self-discovery, Sohaginir Sange Ekbachar is an evocative and intense read.
