Synopsis:
This novel revolves around an unfinished home, symbolizing unresolved emotions and incomplete dreams. Sometimes it appears vividly, at other times, it remains shadowy. The discovery of a revolver near an abandoned pond adds a layer of mysticism and reality to the narrative.
The story seamlessly moves between rural and urban landscapes—introducing characters like the gentle yet tormented Manini, the greedy and lustful Maninath, and the innocent boy Bilbo from the village. Meanwhile, in Kolkata, the novel brings to life the cultured and educated Krishnapriya, her broad-minded son Dhrubo, his lover Radhika, and Krishnapriya’s husband, the ex-convict Santosh Sen.
Through these diverse characters, the novel explores deep human emotions, desires, and the inescapable past. Each character carries within them their own “unfinished home,” a space of longing and incompleteness, making this novel a unique blend of realism and metaphorical depth.
