Synopsis:
Sitting on the 57th floor of Emerald Tower in Newport, Bodhisattva gazes at the Manhattan skyline, reminiscing about his childhood, his lost love Manasi Atreyi, and Jonaki. His life is marked by emotional turbulence and longing, spanning across continents and generations.
His elder daughter, Trisha, is married to Edward, a German man settled in Seattle. Edward's grandfather, Alfred, was once a member of the Nazi party in Germany, adding a layer of historical complexity to their family dynamics. Meanwhile, his younger daughter, Tara, is strikingly different—blue-eyed, with fiery orange hair, pursuing a Ph.D. in Anthropology.
Bodhisattva's aunt, Iravati, was a devout Buddhist, and over time, he too became deeply drawn toward Buddhism. In his search for solace from loneliness, he contemplates the true meaning of Nirvana. After years of austere self-discipline, he finally discovers a path to peace.
This captivating novel weaves together themes of identity, migration, history, and spirituality, exploring life's intricate shades through Bodhisattva's journey across time and space.
