📚 About the Book:

"Dalchut" is a powerful novel that explores the journey of a man torn between urban aspirations and rural political turmoil.

The protagonist, Bitan, a former political activist from a small village, moves to Kolkata for work. However, the city life suffocates him—his world is limited to the routine cycle of office and hostel. Everything changes when he stumbles upon Nandan, where he befriends a group of bright, passionate poets and intellectuals: Saikat, Shantanu, Pritha, Chandan, Anindita, and Manisha.

Among them, Manisha stands out—she is emotional, impulsive, and deeply romantic. Their bond takes unexpected turns, shaped by jealousy, passion, and self-discovery.

Meanwhile, Bitan’s hometown, Ranidihi, is engulfed in political violence—corruption, betrayals, and bloodshed. As he becomes increasingly frustrated with the system's dishonesty and the political decay, he decides to return to his village. But fate has other plans. Denied entry into his own homeland, Bitan finds himself back in Kolkata, caught between his love for Manisha, poetry, and the idealism he once believed in.

🔹 Can Bitan ever escape the turmoil of his past?
🔹 Will he find solace in Manisha’s love, or will politics consume his soul?
🔹 Does poetry and love hold the power to heal a fractured world?

"Dalchut" is a deeply moving novel about love, betrayal, disillusionment, and the eternal search for belonging.
