📚 About the Book:
Tapanjyoti wanted to raise his eldest daughter, Pritha, in a unique way, instilling in her a love for Rabindranath, Sarat Chandra, and Bibhutibhushan's world of thoughts. Despite her father’s wishes, Pritha gets married at a young age to Pranabkumar, an Air Force officer posted in Pune. After marriage, she finds herself trapped in a conservative household, vastly different from her upbringing.
Her husband, Pranabkumar, is a man of crude desires, who disregards her emotional and intellectual depth. In just a few days, he leaves for work, leaving Pritha alone to deal with an unfamiliar and unsupportive environment. As she becomes pregnant, neglect and mistreatment from her in-laws push her to the brink of death. Her parents remain unaware of her plight.
After much struggle, she returns to her paternal home, where she gives birth. However, shattered by her experiences, she finds herself unable to embrace motherhood in a conventional way. She seeks solace in books and music, but fate continues to drag her towards harsh realities.
