• Born: November 2, 1935, in Bikrampur, Dhaka (now in Bangladesh).

• Education: Studied at Victoria College (IA), Kolkata University (BA & MA).
• Career: Started as a school teacher, later became a journalist, and is now associated with Anandabazar Patrika.
