About the Author

Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay (Born November 2, 1935, Bikrampur, Dhaka) is one of the most celebrated authors in Bengali literature. His early life experiences, shaped by frequent relocations, significantly influenced his storytelling.

Early Life: Due to his father’s job in the railways, he lived in Kolkata, Bihar, North Bengal, East Bengal, and Assam.
Education: Completed Intermediate (I.A.) from Victoria College, Cooch Behar, and later earned a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Calcutta.
Career: Started as a school teacher, later became a journalist with Anandabazar Patrika.
