Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay
- Born: November 2, 1935, in Dhaka, Bengal (now Bangladesh)
- Early Life: Grew up in different places due to his father's job in the railways, moving across Bengal, Assam, and Bihar during the Second World War.
- Education: Attended missionary schools and boarding schools; completed his B.A. and M.A. at Kolkata University.
- Career: Started as a schoolteacher, then moved into journalism, working with Anandabazar Patrika.
