• Wrote under the pseudonym Jyotsna Roy during imprisonment.
• Completed I.S.C from Victoria College, Comilla (1932) and B.A (1935).

• Started publishing stories in Parichay & Desh (1936), gaining widespread recognition.
• Moved to Kolkata (1937) and worked in various organizations:
