About Tangail Saree

Tangail sarees are renowned for their intricate handwoven patterns and are known for their delicate buti, floral designs, or contemporary motifs. These sarees are woven using the Jacquard loom, with tiny motifs scattered throughout the fabric. The distinctive feature of a Tangail saree is its extra weft buti, adding a layer of uniqueness to each piece.

While cotton Tangail sarees are popular for daily wear due to their light weight, the Zari Silk variant is more luxurious and vibrant, with a sophisticated texture. With over 1,000 weavers and 2,000 ancillary artisans involved, Tangail sarees are primarily produced in the Nadia and Bardhaman districts.

Colour, Texture & Wash Care Information

  • General: Colour and texture may slightly vary due to the handmade nature of the product.

  • Wash Care: Dry clean only; cold wash is recommended. Natural dyes may cause colour bleeding.

  • Embroidery: Slight irregularities, characteristic of handwoven or hand-embroidered products, add to the unique charm of the saree.

  • Handwoven: Missing yarn, slobs, and uneven yarn contrasts are normal in handwoven products and enhance their distinct beauty.
