About the Book
Set in the dynamic and diverse city of Delhi, Migration, Identity and Conflict sheds light on the challenges faced by cultural and racial minorities from India's Northeast. The book explores the struggles of these migrants as they navigate a society where their identity is constantly questioned, and their livelihoods are often in a state of uncertainty.

Beyond addressing the prevalent issue of racial discrimination, this work offers a broader sociological perspective, tackling issues such as citizenship, ethnicity, gender, religion, and the state's role in these dynamics. It explores the social bonding and disjunctures that emerge when people from different cultural backgrounds share common spaces.

This book is an important contribution to the growing literature on India's Northeast, focusing on the resilience and vulnerabilities of people who have long been viewed as the cultural 'other'. With a focus on sociological and policy analysis, it is a valuable resource for students of sociology, anthropology, migration studies, and social policy, as well as general readers interested in the complexities of migration and identity.
