About the Author

Ram Ahuja was a Professor and Head of the Department of Sociology at the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. He served as a Senior Fellow at the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). With extensive experience in teaching and research, he has published numerous books and research papers. He has been a guest speaker at various national and regional academies and administrative training institutions for over two decades. His work has earned recognition, including the Govind Vallabh Pant Award (1984) for his book on Criminology and the Suprabha Deb Gold Medal from the University of Calcutta (1998) for his research on "Violence Against Women."
