About the Book
Water Resource Management is one of the most pressing challenges for policymakers and planners across the globe, particularly in countries like India where freshwater is finite, the demand is ever-growing, and the quality continues to degrade. This book provides an in-depth exploration of these issues, highlighting the need for integrated approaches to manage both freshwater and wastewater. An effective and sustainable management strategy requires innovative, region-specific pathways and extensive community participation.
The book brings together twenty insightful articles from experts, organized into five key sections, and tackles a broad range of water management topics. From addressing governance issues and tackling the impact of climate change, to innovative water use practices like rainwater harvesting and the concept of water ATMs, this volume offers comprehensive solutions for the management of water resources in India. The book emphasizes the need to make water an integral part of all development planning to ensure future water security.
