About the Author: T.G.L. Iyer

Born in 1927 in Kochi, Kerala, T.G.L. Iyer holds a postgraduate degree in Science from Banaras Hindu University. He had a distinguished career in the police service, retiring as the Director-General of the Central Reserve Police Force in New Delhi in 1985.

In 1986, he joined the Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan as an Honorary Director in Nagpur. His passion for writing, which began during his police career, flourished further at the Bhavan.
