About the Book

Remote Sensing Today offers a comprehensive introduction to the principles and technologies of remote sensing. Designed for undergraduate and graduate students, this book presents the fundamental concepts and cutting-edge techniques in the field of remote sensing, making it an invaluable resource for environmental scientists and anyone with an interest in environmental data collection and analysis.

The book is divided into three main themes:

  1. The Relationship Between Environmental Properties and Remotely Sensed Images: Understanding how environmental elements interact with and are captured by remote sensing devices.

  2. Techniques for Acquiring Remotely Sensed Images: It covers various technologies such as aerial photography, satellite sensor imagery, radar, and digital imaging that help in obtaining environmental data from afar.

  3. Image Processing and Interpretation: The book also delves into the techniques used to process and interpret remotely sensed images, enabling the identification, location, and study of different environmental areas.

The text provides a well-rounded explanation of remote sensing, starting from the basics of electromagnetic radiation at the Earth's surface to more advanced applications, offering students from various disciplines a solid foundation in this essential field of environmental science.
