About the Book
This comprehensive book offers an interdisciplinary analysis of both the natural and anthropogenic components of the environment, rooted in the crucial relationship between man and his environment. As environmental degradation continues to intensify due to human activities, this book explores both the global and regional environmental issues that geographers have long studied, alongside the vital question of sustainable development.
Now in its third edition, this updated version incorporates several new topics to ensure the text remains current. The book’s new chapters focus on Biomes, Biodiversity, Climate Change, and Towards Sustainability. These additions, alongside updates across almost all chapters, offer readers an in-depth, up-to-date understanding of geographical concepts in environmental studies.
It is essential reading for students of geography and environmental science, and also valuable to a broader social science audience interested in applying social knowledge to the understanding of environmental problems at both local and global scales.
