About Tangail Sarees

Tangail sarees are handwoven gems of Bengal, created using cotton and silk, with intricate hand-worked buti, floral designs, or contemporary motifs. The defining feature of Tangail sarees is the extra weft buti, with tiny motifs woven throughout the fabric using a Jacquard loom. These sarees have become a favorite among those who appreciate the unique beauty of handmade textiles.

The cotton version of Tangail is celebrated for being lightweight and perfect for daily wear, while the silk variety, like this one, adds elegance and luxury to any occasion. Approximately 1,000 weavers and 2,000 artisans, mainly from Nadia and Bardhaman districts, work together to create these colourful, easy-to-care-for, and elegantly distinctive sarees.

Colour, Texture & Wash Care Information

  • General: The colour and texture of the product may slightly vary from the photograph due to the handwoven nature of the saree.

  • Wash Care: Dry clean only. Cold wash is recommended. Natural dyes may cause colour bleeding.

  • Embroidery: Slight irregularities are a characteristic of handwoven, hand-embroidered, or hand-crafted products, which add to the unique charm of the saree.

  • Handwoven: Missing yarn, slubs, and uneven yarn contrasts are natural phenomena in handwoven products. These characteristics make each piece uniquely beautiful.
