About the Author

Nirendranath Chakraborty, born in Faridpur, Bangladesh, is one of the most celebrated poets and writers in Bengali literature. He had a long and successful career at Anandabazar Patrika, eventually becoming the editorial advisor to the publication.

His poetry, which often reflects on social issues and human emotions, has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award. Chakraborty was also the president of the West Bengal Bengali Academy from 2004 to 2011 and was awarded the Fellowship by the Sahitya Akademi in 2016.
