Sarat Kumar Mukhopadhyay (শরৎকুমার মুখোপাধ্যায়, born August 15, 1931) is a celebrated figure in modern Bengali literature. A graduate of Calcutta University, he completed a postgraduate certificate in Business Management in the U.K. and held key positions in various industrial organizations until 1983, when he devoted himself entirely to literature.
His first story and poem were published at the age of 20. He was closely associated with the iconic literary magazine Krittibas from its inception. Over the years, he has published nearly 30 books, spanning poetry, fiction, essays, travelogues, and translations.
