About the Author:

  • Yashodhara Raychaudhuri was born in 1965 in Kolkata. She is the daughter of the science fiction writer Dilip Raychaudhuri and artist Arundhati Raychaudhuri. She studied philosophy and currently works for the central government.
  • She debuted as a poet in 1992 and has since written numerous poetry collections, short story books, and essays. Some of her other works include Jwar Parabarti, Amol Dhabale Gorol Legheche.
  • Yashodhara is also a translator of French literature and has translated works such as Leonardo da Vinci (Ananda Publishers).
  • She has received several accolades, including the Krittibas Award (1998), the Bengal Academy Anita-Sunil Kumar Basu Award (2006), Binoy Majumdar Memorial Award (2016), Srishtisukh Award (2019), and the Telegraph She Awards (2023). In 2024, she was honored with the Sunil Gangopadhyay Award by the West Bengal Poetry Academy.
