Description:

  • "Joydurga Talkies" captures the golden age of cinema as a medium of entertainment, especially in rural and semi-urban areas where professional theater troupes were absent, and cinemas were the prime source of entertainment. During this period, movie theaters flourished, and these places became the center of people's daily lives. This collection explores the intertwined lives of those who were associated with these theaters, portraying their joys and struggles through poetry.
  • The book encapsulates the essence of a time when cinemas were more than just places of entertainment; they were social hubs that shaped people's lives and created shared experiences.
