Binayak Bandopadhyay was born in Kolkata into a family with a rich cultural heritage. His father was the renowned Sanskrit scholar Parashnath Bandopadhyay, and his mother, Gourie Bandopadhyay, hailed from a royal family of Maluti.
His first poem was published in the South Point School magazine, and his first short story appeared in Unish-Kuri magazine. His debut novel was serialized in Sharodiya Desh in 2007.
Bandopadhyay writes poetry, stories, novels, and essays, and has been honored with numerous awards, including the Krittibas, Bangla Akademi Shakti Chattopadhyay, and Bhashanagar awards.
In 2014, he represented India at the International Writers' Workshop in Iowa. He is passionate about writing works that challenge readers to explore unspoken thoughts, and enjoys old songs and new books.
