About the Author:

  • Pinaki Thakur was born on 22nd March 1959. Initially an engineering student, he did not complete his final exams. His father, Amal Thakur, was a leftist political activist, and his mother was Shreemati Mira Thakur.
  • Pinaki began his career as a private tutor and later worked in a factory before joining the editorial team at Desh magazine. He currently works at Krittibas magazine.
  • He has authored twenty books, including poetry, stories, novels, and essays, and his works have been translated into English and several Indian languages.
  • He has received numerous accolades, including the Krittibas, Bangla Akademi, and Nabonmesh awards, the Writer of the Year honor from the Indian Rationalist Association, and the Ananda Award for his poetry collection Chumboner Kshato in 2012.
