About the Author
- Kumar Prasad Mukhopadhyay was born in February 1927, in Allahabad.
- Studied in Lucknow, completing an M.A. in Economics and Sociology.
- Worked in the Indian government’s Industrial Management sector and held key positions in NCDC, Coal Mines Authority, and Coal India Limited.
- A dedicated Hindustani classical musician, he trained under Padma Bhushan Ustad Mushtaq Hussain Khan and was deeply influenced by Ustad Faiyaz Khan.
- Performed in major music conferences across India and was a recognized radio artist.
- Delivered lectures and performances at prestigious institutions like Sangeet Research Academy (Kolkata), Institute of Advanced Studies (Shimla), Madras Academy, and Gana Kala Parishad (Bangalore).
- Awarded the ‘Pandit’ title (1972) and received the Rabindra Puraskar (1403 Bangabda) for his book Kudrat Rangi-Birangi.
