Summary:
Bishwarupam is a blend of prose and poetry written by the renowned Rupam, in a unique and playful style that combines philosophical insights with humor. The book is described as a personal diary filled with musical narratives, vivid imaginations, and philosophical musings. The author’s own journey with music and his distinctive narrative voice come together in this work to depict a series of intertwined events, moments, and reflections.

Rupam’s writings delve into the dynamics of everyday life, weaving his philosophical reflections with playful expressions in both prose and poetry. In his own words, he explores the idea that music cannot be completely separated from life, as seen in his discussion of rock concerts and the death of John Lennon. The book touches on the author's early struggles, his artistic journey, and references to cultural and historical figures like Charles Manson.

The mix of humor, music, and philosophical observations in Bishwarupam makes it an exploration of both the inner and outer worlds, with a focus on musical themes, particularly rock music, as the author attempts to understand the interplay of life and art. The book is essentially a personal reflection with an artistic and musical perspective, offering readers a chance to experience life through the lens of Rupam's thoughts and songs.

About the Author:

Rupam’s contributions to Bangla rock music and his role in editing the “Bangla Rock” magazine further cemented his significance in the field. He has also worked as a playback singer, music director, and lyricist. Some of his notable works include "Brahma Thakur", “Anamika Bole Dakte Pari Ki Tomay”, and his poetry collection "Tire Eseo, Sahasini".

He was awarded the National Award for Best Playback Singer in 2009 and the "Sangeet Samman" from the West Bengal Government in 2015-16. His other notable works include Rock Journal Series, Rupam on the Rocks, and Bishwarupam: A Collection of Songs and Poems.
