Book Summary:
The sacred Ganga River, worshipped for generations, carries the essence of Indian life, culture, and heritage. It is both a creator and a destroyer, nourishing lands while also bringing devastation. The novel Rajpat is set in Murshidabad, a historically rich district of West Bengal, where the Ganga and its tributaries shape human civilization by providing fertility, prosperity, and destruction.
At the heart of this novel is Moyna Vaishnavi, a deeply spiritual woman who witnesses the joys and sorrows of rural life. She worships Krishna with devotion, but her faith is shaken when she discovers a dark secret—an underground human trafficking ring disguised as a religious ashram, led by Mahaprabhu Gopidas.
Determined to fight against this injustice, Moyna seeks the help of Siddhartha Bandopadhyay, a fearless young political activist known for his integrity, patriotism, and unwavering belief in justice. Together, they challenge a corrupt system in a tale of rebellion, human suffering, and resistance.
Blending geography, history, religion, culture, economy, and deep human relationships, Rajpat paints a vivid portrait of Murshidabad’s soil, struggles, and resilience.
