Sukanta Gangopadhyay was born on January 21, 1961, in Uttarpara, Hooghly.
His ancestral roots trace back to Bihar (paternal) and Dinajpur, Bangladesh (maternal).
He studied in Uttarpara and later pursued Photography.
Professionally, he is the technical head of a photo printing company.
His literary career gained recognition after his first short story was published in Desh magazine.
