Synopsis:
"Pitribhumi" is a powerful novel that chronicles the lives of a group of displaced yet successful individuals, tracing their memories, conflicts, and evolving relationships with the next generation. The novel navigates through the uncertainties of the modern world, the pain of losing one's roots, and the exhilarating journey of finding new ones.
At the heart of the story is Arkadeep, a skilled professional of the contemporary world who often finds himself lost. Over time, he discovers within himself the spirit of Dr. Indranath Roy, a rebellious, idealistic youth from the past century, embodying a bohemian and defiant approach to life.
Alongside Arkadeep stands Sophie, his lover, representing the materialistic life of North America. The novel also introduces Mrittika, Indranath's devoted disciple, whose resilient journey spans two continents. In contrast, we meet the first-generation refugee parents, torn between deep concern and helplessness as they witness their children immerse themselves in modern experimental lifestyles.
Spanning across Asia, Europe, and North America, Pitribhumi vividly portrays generational and cultural conflicts, yet ultimately emphasizes the universal quest for identity, acceptance, and the invisible homeland that resides within every individual.
