Synopsis:
Dr. Prithviraj Barman, a controversial psychologist in London, wanted to prove himself to the world through his unique therapeutic methods by making a film. He chose the case of Mouli from Simantapur, who suffered from Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD)—a condition that first surfaced during her teenage years due to a dark past involving family abuse, a mysterious rainy night, and a group of enthusiastic young boys like Jishnu, Soumya, and Rudra. Though she seemed to recover, her past trauma resurfaced around the time of her marriage.
Dr. Barman took charge of her treatment, but at the same time, he also wanted to complete his screenplay based on her life. Their journey took them through Chitrakoot, Khajuraho, and Bandhavgarh in Madhya Pradesh, unraveling hidden secrets, unknown relationships, and buried guilt. Papbiddha is a gripping psychological exploration of trauma, identity, and redemption.
