Summary:
Nandini is not just the story of one woman, but a portrayal of the many faces of women in society. The word Nandini means "daughter," and represents a figure who takes on many roles—mother, wife, daughter, and more. The novel explores the shifting roles of women in society, yet questions if their fate ever truly changes. It addresses the harsh realities faced by women—ranging from female feticide to rape—and whether a woman’s destiny is always one of victimhood, exploitation, and suffering.
However, Nandini is also a symbol of hope and resistance. It represents the power to challenge the status quo and ignite change. Nandini stands for the strength of women coming together to fight back, to alter their fate, and to bring about change for themselves and others. The story is about collective defiance, where women rise against adversity, showcasing their inherent strength and resilience.
