Synopsis:

One day, the police announce that they are reopening the investigation into Pratima Chowdhury’s death. Was it truly an accident, or was it murder?

Her husband, Amarnath, has remarried but has not distanced himself from his children—though he has moved to a new house, creating a sense of separation. Their son, Ankur, is dedicated to his job but remains somewhat lost and indifferent. He frequently visits Ashabari, a woman older than him, unsure if what he feels is love. Meanwhile, their college-going daughter, Dibyangana, has a hidden side—a constant inner dialogue questioning her own emotions. She harbors a secret, unrequited love for one of her professors.

Dibyangana’s lively friend Tiyasha despises the hypocrisy of society and believes that true freedom lies in living life on one’s own terms.

As Inspector Bisaha investigates Pratima Chowdhury’s mysterious death, his inquiries range from casual to deeply intense. Meanwhile, Ankur’s boss, Dibakar, proposes a bizarre offer—he wants Ankur to marry his mentally unstable daughter, adding another layer of complexity to the already tangled lives of these characters.

Layer by layer, Mukta Abarane peels back the veils covering secrets, relationships, and the fine line between life and mystery.
