About the Author:

Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay was born on November 2, 1935, in Bikrampur, Dhaka (now Bangladesh). His childhood was spent moving across various locations due to his father’s railway job, including Kolkata, Bihar, North Bengal, East Bengal, and Assam. These experiences shaped much of his storytelling.

He completed his early education in Cooch Behar and later studied B.A. in Kolkata, followed by post-graduation from Calcutta University. His career began as a schoolteacher, but later, he transitioned into journalism, becoming an integral part of Anandabazar Patrika.
