Description:
Around eight years ago, an unexpected twist in the world of international cricket abruptly derailed a rising star, who then became one of the brightest figures in world cricket in the new century. The rise of Sourav Ganguly echoes the fairytale-like fulfillment of a dream, but his journey to the top is far from conventional. The story of how this Bengali cricketer, from Behela Bireen Roy Road, captured the attention of the cricket world is as captivating as any novel.
In the face of immense pressure, resistance from former cricketers, and the heat of provincial politics, Sourav rose to become one of the most successful cricketers. From his historic century at Lords to remarkable performances in Dhaka and Taunton, his career is filled with significant milestones. This book not only explores these moments but also presents a continuous narrative of Sourav's cricket career.
Having traveled with Sourav both within India and internationally, the author presents not just his successes but also unknown stories from the field and beyond. The book features rare and unseen photographs, both color and black-and-white. An introduction by Sachin Tendulkar adds further depth to this engaging account.
