🔹 Subodh Ghosh was born in 1909 in Hazaribagh, though his ancestral home was in Bikrampur, Dhaka (now Bangladesh).
🔹 He spent his early years in Hazaribagh and studied at St. Columba's College.
🔹 A self-educated intellectual, he gained knowledge from the library of philosopher Mahesh Ghosh.
🔹 He led an extraordinary life, working in diverse professions—tuition teacher, bus conductor, truck driver, circus worker, municipal sweeper, and even a vaccine administrator in East Africa.
🔹 His literary career took off in the 1930s, when he joined Anandabazar Patrika as an editor.
🔹 His first story, "Ajantrik", was written at the insistence of friends, followed by "Fossil", which created a sensation in Bengali literature.
