Book Description:
Berin Taranger Nitol Mukta Prabal is an insightful exploration of the turbulent 20th century, a period marked by political and social upheavals. Intertwined with this history, the world of art and literature thrived, oscillating between coexistence and conflict. Bratya Basu profiles the personal and literary lives of ten poets—Boris Pasternak, Pablo Neruda, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Paul Éluard, Ernst Toller, Bei Dao, Sylvia Plath, García Lorca, Abdul Wahab Al-Bayati, and Amiri Baraka. These poets' lives, influenced by political and personal adversities, reflect the harsh realities of the era. Basu examines how each poet's life was shaped by some form of power, offering a profound perspective on the intersection of poetry, politics, and human struggle. This book is a testament to Basu's deep love for poetry and his incisive understanding of history and literature.
