About Santipuri Saree:
The Santipuri saree is a Geographical Indication (GI) product of West Bengal, famous for its elegant and nature-inspired designs. Santipur weavers use fine cotton yarn ranging from 60s to 100s in both warp and weft to create these intricate jacquard patterns. Designs such as Ganga-Jamuna, Benkipar, Bhomra, Rajmahal, and others are popular motifs, all inspired by nature.
A Santipuri saree takes about 2-3 days to complete, with each saree showcasing exceptional craftsmanship.
Colour, Texture & Wash Care:
-
Variation: The colour and texture of the saree may slightly vary from what is shown in the photograph due to the natural handwoven process, adding to its uniqueness.
-
Handwoven Imperfections: Minor imperfections such as missing yarn, slubs, and uneven yarn contrasts are inherent to handwoven textiles. These variations make each piece unique and contribute to its charm.
-
Embroidery: Slight irregularities are normal and expected in handmade products, enhancing their beauty and giving them character that mass-produced textiles lack.
