About the Book
Historians have become increasingly sensitive to social and cultural theory since the 1980s, yet the methods by which research is conducted in History have often been taken for granted. Research Methods for History encourages researchers to think creatively about the wide range of methods currently in use and to understand how these methods can provide valuable historical insights.

This updated edition covers not only traditional methods like archival research but also newer developments, such as the influence of digital history research. The book reflects the latest trends in the field, including landscape studies, material culture, and ethics. Each chapter offers fresh perspectives, encouraging historians at all levels to think critically and creatively. The book also highlights transferable methodological skills useful across disciplines like English Studies, Geography, Archaeology, and Cultural Studies.
