About the Editor
Prof. M. Thamilarasan is the Head of the Department of Sociology at the University of Madras. With over two decades of fieldwork among Tamil Nadu’s marginalized communities, his research spans the sociology of health, ageing, and wellbeing. He has authored and edited multiple volumes on these themes and has held key positions in both national and international sociological organizations. He is also a nominated member of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare's State-Level Steering Committee in Tamil Nadu.
