About the Author

Edward Premdas Pinto is a human rights advocate, scholar, and practitioner in public health with over 25 years of experience in advancing social justice for marginalized communities. He holds degrees in philosophy, social sciences, law, and public health from top Indian institutions including JNU, TISS, and NLSIU. His areas of expertise span healthcare jurisprudence, public health law, ethics, and human rights. Currently, he serves as Associate Professor of Public Health and Law at Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, and is actively engaged in grassroots movements and civil society networks working toward justice and dignity in healthcare.
