About the Book
India is one of the youngest nations in the world with a vast adolescent population, making the empowerment of this group a critical issue for the country's future. This volume focuses on three key dimensions of adolescent empowerment: education, health, and citizenship. It brings together papers from both academic scholars and voluntary organizations, each addressing these challenges with practical solutions.
The contributors cover various aspects of adolescent development, including education, health concerns, and their role in society as active citizens. Case studies, such as those of the Pratham programme for dropouts, the empowerment of adolescent girls through camps, and initiatives for supporting adolescent sexual health, provide insights into how different organizations are making a real impact.
This book will be highly useful for those concerned with the growth and development of adolescents, offering a range of perspectives and suggestions for creating an environment where young people can thrive.
