About the Book
Economic Geography is an essential branch of geography that delves into the production, distribution, and consumption activities within the economy. This comprehensive text, divided into three main parts, provides a thorough exploration of economic geography, with consideration for both recent trends and theoretical developments in the field.
-
Part I introduces basic concepts such as economy, resources, and economic geography, laying the groundwork for further discussion.
-
Part II addresses resources and their utilization, covering a variety of topics including world agriculture, livestock, fisheries, mineral resources, energy sources, industries, and global transportation patterns.
-
Part III explains theories of agricultural and industrial location, spatial variations in production and transport costs, the decision-making process, and the concept of economic regionalization.
This updated edition is enriched with new data, including detailed sections on fisheries and non-conventional sources of power. Written in a clear, accessible style, the book includes helpful illustrations and tables, making it an invaluable resource for geography students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
