Amalesh Tripathi (b. 18th February 1921 - d. 18th June 1998) was a renowned historian and educator.
- He served as the Head of the Department of History at Presidency College (1957-1969) and as an Ashutosh Professor at Calcutta University (1969-1986).
 - Tripathi was a respected scholar with numerous accolades, including the Rabindra Award (1992) and the Asiatic Society's Yadunath Sarkar Gold Medal (1993).
