Book Description
Tar Baghoa is a thrilling story of a massive tiger that roams the vast open fields of Palamou, also known as the ‘Tar’ (field), and is known by the local people as ‘Tar Baghoa.’ The tiger’s yellow fur also earned it the name ‘Pilababa.’ This extraordinary tale explores the life of two kings of Palashbona—one, a human king, Tikayet, and the other, the tiger, Tar Baghoa. They live in harmony until a misunderstanding leads to a tragic and thrilling hunting adventure.
The protagonist of this story is not the usual hero, Riju or Rudra, but the author’s own childhood experience, which forms the basis of the plot. It recounts a fascinating tale from the author’s college days when he and his friend, Ted, ventured to Palashbona to hunt birds. They were unexpectedly asked to deal with a man-eating tiger, which leads to a series of thrilling and adventurous events. Tar Baghoa is a gripping and exciting story of danger, wildlife, and suspense, crafted with vivid details and thrilling experiences.
The book is beautifully illustrated by Sanjay Bhattacharya with sketches that complement the adventure and add a unique charm to the story.

Buddhadeb Guha (বুদ্ধদেব গুহ) is a prominent author and a well-known Chartered Accountant from Eastern India. Despite his professional career, he is equally recognized for his contribution to Bengali literature.
Guha's love for wildlife began early in life, and he started hunting at the age of ten. However, he no longer participates in hunting and does not want to be labeled as a hunter. Guha's first published book was Jangalmohal (জঙ্গলমহল), and he quickly became a well-established name in Bengali literature. His controversial novel Madhukari (মাধুকরী) became one of the longest-running bestsellers. He is also well-known for his children's books, including his first work for young readers, Rijudar Shonge Jangale (ঋজুদার সঙ্গে জঙ্গলে), which earned him the Anand Award in 1977.
