Book Description
Stopper is a compelling story by Moti Nandi, revolving around a young boy, Komal Guha, and his deep reflections on life, symbolized through the game of cricket. The protagonist's remark, “We are all stopers, some on the field, some off the field. We stop and block everything,” encapsulates the symbolic essence of the narrative—where the playing field of cricket is used as a metaphor for life's struggles and challenges. The story explores the intertwining of sports and life, the responsibilities and roles one plays in the broader game of life, and the moments of introspection that come with them.
Through the character of Komal, Moti Nandi presents a reflection on the broader dynamics of life through simple yet profound storytelling. The game of cricket, often symbolic of larger societal issues, is the canvas on which this coming-of-age story unfolds.
