Author's Bio

Satyajit Ray, born on May 2, 1921, in North Kolkata, is one of the most renowned filmmakers and writers in Indian history. He was the only child of Sukumar Ray and Suprava Ray. Ray’s academic journey began at Ballygunge Government High School and continued at Presidency College, where he graduated in 1940. Although he joined Santiniketan for further study, he left in 1942 and later began his professional career in an advertising agency.

Satyajit Ray’s entry into literature began with his writing for Sandesh magazine in 1961, followed by the creation of Professor Shanku stories. His works also included the famous Feluda detective series, which has captivated readers for generations. Ray received numerous accolades, including the prestigious Bharat Ratna and Legion of Honor (France), for his groundbreaking work in both literature and cinema.

Ray passed away on April 23, 1992, leaving behind over 60 books spanning multiple genres, including science fiction, detective stories, and essays.
